" Well met. "
" Yes, the ship will be going along and if possible a room would be nice, Juna can take to the floor or in the fighter with the droid. " His eyes scanned over their own belongings. Confirming visually once more everything they needed was prepared.
Ryl turned his gaze from the man and his companion as she began speaking in Huttese. Looking at Juna as she questioned him with only, " Master Mevek? " Offering a faint smile he returned a, " Yes? "
" Ahh... the one ship and not two as I said. We're only using this one. You'll be doing the majority of the flying in it, however. "
" Ready whenever you wish to lead the way Captain Tara'dek. "

Dek looked down at the purple hand gripping his arm. As a rule, he didn’t much like being handled as such unless in the throes of passion, and even then he didn’t like it much. It was too much of a remembrance of his time as a slave.
“We’ll be leaving as soon as our guests are situated An’ka. I already said as much.” His words sharp, and to the point. Her abrasive attitude most definitely not to his liking. Turning back to the Jedi and his padawan, though, he wore nothing but the warmest of smiles.
“I’ll have R2 set up a cot in the quarters that are open if you desire, shouldn’t take more then a moment. I trust that they will load the fighter,” Dek indicates the crew moving the vessel, “unless of course you intend to your padawan to follow us in it. Either way, I just need to know. If you will follow me, I will show you to your quarters, and then we can get underway.”
Anything that the pair would need to say could be said while moving, and everyone seemed anxious to be off, so Dek just began to move up the ramp and into the cargo hold of ‘Serenity’. His booted feet echoed off of the metallic flooring as he made his way through the hold, into the ship itself, and then up the stairs to the common area connecting all of the quarters, and the small cooking area along the back. A gigantic transparisteel window was along the front, affording all a glimpse of the side of the Jedi Temple. Moving forward a bit, Dek touches a panel beside the door all the way in the rear of the common area, on the left hand side. It was the room next to Ceeta’s.
“This will be your chambers for as long as you wish to remain on board ‘Serenity’, anything that you need, just ask, and I’ll do my best to provide.” Even as the door slid open, revealing the interior, Dek’s R2 unit wheeled out of bay meant for the droid and moved towards them.
“Yes R2, begin preparations for launch.” Dek replied to a series of beeps and whirs that the little droid spouted out. Almost immediately, the droid wheeled away and entered another small alcove, where it disappeared into a droid-sized elevator that took it down to the main deck.
Returning his attention to the Jedi and his padawan, he nods his head. “I’ll leave the two of you to…unpack and get comfortable while I get the ship ready to launch and get us into space. The bridge is just down those stairs, and if you need anything, or have any question, just use the comm. system.”
Moving away from the pair, Dek makes his way towards the stairs that he had indicated, but paused to look at Anka. She was being a pain of late, and if they were to end up in a combat situation, he needed to know he could depend on her.
“An’ka, I’d like to have a word with you when you have a moment.” His eyes looking towards the Jedi, subtly indicating that he wanted the conversation to be in private.
Not waiting for a response from her, he moves down the steps and onto the bridge of ‘Serenity’. R2 was already in the midst of bringing systems out of hibernation, to which Dek helped out as soon as he was seated. The star fighter that had been being wheeled out earlier was being loaded into the cargo bay. He waited until the fighter had been secured, and the crew off of the pad before he fired up the sub-light engines, and then the ion drives, a slight shudder coursing through the ship as the hum of these powerful engines sprang to life.
Since everyone was accounted for and on board, Dek saw no point in wasting anymore time. Opening up the comm. system to the interior of the ship, he makes a short announcement. “This is Captain Tara’dek to all on board ‘Serenity’. We’ll be taking off here momentarily. Launching into space is usually smooth, but be prepared anyways.”
With that, he cut off the comm. as he put his hands on the manual controls. With a gentle thrum, the sub-light engines flared to life and lifted the large Horizon Class Space Yacht off of Pad 4, and into the air. In moments, the ship was moving upwards, and into the atmosphere of Coruscant, and then out into the blackness of space. It occurred to Dek at that point that they didn’t really have a heading. Perhaps the council had given one to Mevek. For the moment, however, Dek moves the Yacht out of typical traffic lanes and into a more calm part of the space around Coruscant.

" Good idea, familiarize yourself with the Tikiar. " He didn't need to speak to convey the rest of his message to her turning to follow the man as he began the brief tour of his ship.
More or less keeping to himself throughout the ordeal at most passing forth a, " Nice ship. " Beyond that he stuck with his relative silence. Shown his room over he glanced in long enough to pick out where he would place the belongs of his that would find themselves outside the ships storage. Watching the interaction between the Twi'lek and the Human.
" Well.... I'm sure we all have our duties to attend anyways. I'll be around if you need me. I've some questions later when you have the time. "
Watching the two head towards the front part of the ship he turned and joined Juna in the cargo hold where the ship had been placed. The imposing figure of a large masked man standing in the hall blocking him in his path, behind the visage of the entrapments the man was wearing he could tell eyes were set on him.
" Greetings. " The Jedi offered, Ceeta returning it with a slight tip of the chin. The man apparently was headed into the bay as well taking an abrupt turn to tend the creature held up in a walled off area, something Ryl had never seen and managed to marvel at a moment before joining his padawan-learner at the starfighter they'd been assigned.

Hearing his words, she loosened her grip on his arm, standing back, her own arms crossing over her chest as they spoke. This was not going to be good, she didn't know why these two had to come with them, well she was pretty sure it had to do with the one that they had encountered on Tattooine and the things that had followed, ending with them almost being killed.
She didn't like it, but then again, she supposed she really didn't have to like it. Leaving their company as she heard them speaking of leaving, she moved up the ramp and into the ship. She stopped, waiting for them all to board, staying out of the way as they were shown to their chambers and Dek spoke to them. Hearing him, she merely nodded and started towards her own chambers. "I will be in my room when you are ready to talk."
Stepping through the door, she leaned her pike against the wall, moving and sitting in a chair as the ship started to take off. An'ka wasn't sure why Dek wanted to talk to her, but she had a feeling he was going to ask her questions that she really didn't want to answer.
How she got on Tattooine?
Why she was there to begin with?
but more important than that...
What she wanted with him after this little mission was over?
Leaning her head back, she reached up and pulled off her headpiece, her lekku flowing freely over each shoulder as she set it to the side. Running a hand over her smooth violet skin, she would have to think quickly, no matter what it was that he wanted.

Approaching the fighter Ryl looked it over once more then sat upon the wing next to the choobiepit. Hearing Juna speak of the Ysanna's riding beast, assuming such since it had also drawn his own attentions.
" Honestly not quite sure. Looks related to a vornksyr, yet never seen one with six-legs. A vicious looking beast." He commented, his tone quite as well keeping below earshot of the Nomad who was currently tending the animal.
The droid whirred quietly to itself, something the Jedi easily pushed off as background noise. " We will practice here shortly, I'm going to set your days to a regime of tasks. Ones to help you on your path to understanding the Force and the ways of the Jedi. Even if we are traveling you'll stick to this as best you can. Food as well... my Padawans do not partake of liquor or any kind of mind-altering substance, I know you're taught to avoid these but I'm stressing this even further. Uh... " He paused eyes going distant looking as they seemed to unfocus stopping mid-sentence.
" Hrm. " His head shook, for some odd reason his apparent demeanor seemed to change. His hand lifted as if physically trying to brush aside some thought, memory or scent. " Anyways, rest now while you can, get comfortable with the Tikiar and the R4 unit. We'll eat soon enough then train. Tantra I fear... is going to hold alot of danger for us. "
" We're bonded now you and I. Remember this, if you need me. Will yourself to be heard. "

Leaning back in his seat on ‘Serenity’s’ bridge, Dek folds his arms behind his head. He suspected that this was going to be quite an interesting trip, perhaps even a lengthy one. And also, from the looks of it, he’d have to make some concessions in concern to the young padawan’s training. But he didn’t mind. The child was sweet enough, and had a rather infectious smile.
“Keep us in a high orbit R2, I need to go speak with that Jedi Mevek for a few minutes and get a solid course to follow.”
By the beeping and whirring, Dek knew that his trusty astromech understood completely. Rising out of his chair, he moves out into the hallway. For a moment, he looked up the stairway. But he sensed that neither of the Jedi were up there, and that they were in the cargo hold. He still had a mind to climb those steps and speak with An’ka…but now was not the time. He wanted some very specific information, and that might take time. Getting underway was by far more important.
On his way, he began to wonder if this Jedi Mevek was the one that An’ka had stolen the ship from, or if perhaps she knew him. He had seen the look she had given to the man, and she had seem agitated ever since it was revealed that they would be coming on board and joining them. That was something else that he might have to bring up when he spoke with the enigmatic Twi’lek, but it would have to wait until later.
Moving through the large metallic doorway that led into the cargo hold, Dek catches sight of the two Jedi. Ceeta was there, consoling his beastly friend. His friend, too, would have to wait though, as he made his way over to the starfighter. He had only ever seen one once, in action at least. It was a sturdy little ship, and could put up one hell of a fight. He was actually looking forward to seeing it in flight. But he hadn’t come to admire the ship.
The two Jedi, Mevek and Juna, seemed to be having a conversation. The child’s laughter bringing a smile to his lips as he approached.
“Well I’m glad to see you in mirthful spirits young one.” Dek made comment to, thus announcing himself as he moved closer. “I’ve always been fond of the laughter of children, so sweet and light. But that is not why I am here.” Dek’s attention swings more towards Mevek as he speaks further.
“In all the….excitement…” Dek begins, saying excitement in a dry tone, “I completely forgot to ask where out destination would be, or even if there was one. So where shall we be heading Master Mevek?”
Dek’s posture was loose and comfortable as he waited for an answer. His attentions returned to the small starfighter and its pilot, a warm smile on his lips. A thought struck him, though why, not even he knew.
“Have you ever piloted a ship of this size before Juna?” He asks, smiling, “Perhaps the young pilot would like the chance to pilot ‘Serenity’?”

Abit caught off gaurd by her sudden laughter and response his eyes widened. He managed a small faint ghost of a smile. " I guess you are right there. " The shift of his lips moved back to their normal set line and he added a, " Well... we will encounter planets that won't be able to tell age differences and or really do not care. So... forewarned. Which as far as where we are headed, I know very little of their customs so... follow my lead as best you can. That mean's never accept gifts or offerings from any Hutts. " He winked at her once hearing the sudden new voice.
Turning his attentions from his student he looked towards the Serenity's Captain, head inclining abit, his question of her wanting to pilot had Ryl letting her answer that one herself but he gave a subtle tapping motion with fingertip on the leather encased lightsaber a fingernail clicking off a bead in reminder of her new schedule. " Hrm, well... abit of a stretch but sources suggest Metharian Nebula Territories, the ice planet Tantra is where we should be headed. Though... " He tipped his chin back up looking the man over.
" I was told there is something off about you to be quite honest. Perhaps another reason I was assigned to this mission, the same reasons I picked a Balosar as my padawan. The Mevek line is strong in feeling through the Force, we can see things at times others cannot - from the instant I met you I realized... you have a taint upon you Captain Tara'dek. One that reeks of something no Jedi currently has encountered except a few, I'm one... the same taint lingering on you also seems to exist upon my first pupil Cryo Sjame. I'm being as forward as possible, so I expect the same of you."
"Tell me about the Holocron, that is where this all seems to be pointing. The Shades working for whoever, in exploration of the Morobe sector where I first met your Twi'lek friend in a prison, to as far as Tatooine where you encountered these 'Sith' it's all got the same feel and taste to it. Which makes me curious as to how, and why... Anka keeps showing up at each. Talasea, Tatooine and now Coruscant with you. "
The Knight shifted drawing one of his legs up so it's booted foot was hanging from the wing swaying back and forth as he observed past the man at the Ysanna, then to Dek. " Another question... where is he from? "

His smile continued, until Mevek began to speak more earnestly. His smile took on a more serious demeanor as he listened to what the Jedi Knight had to say. Dek spoke not a word until the very last question was asked of him, and even then he waited a few moments to ponder before answering.
“Well, the begin with the simplest of your questions, Ceeta is from the Planet of Ossus, which is also where I hail from…if that is of interest to you.” Dek began.
He once more paused, as if considering his choice of words, before once more continuing on. So Mevek was told of his taint, his link to the dark side of the Force. It was a long and twisted tale, and one that would be hard to tell in short fashion. But at least they had a heading now.
“Then you were told correctly. I was originally trained in the dark side of the Force as a child. It’s a long tale, one that I don’t particularly wish to repeat just now here in the Cargo hold. The short of it is that I was stolen as a child from my mother, trained in the dark side of the Force…my Master decided I was not adequate, and sold me into slavery where I remained until some pirates ended up freeing me…by accident of course.” Dek summed up for Mevek.
“There is not much more I can tell you about the Holocron that you were no doubt already told by your Jedi Masters, as I had described it to them. It was strange though, not like anything I have ever seen or felt. I felt literally connected to the device, as if something inside of me was fueling its awakening. It felt…malevolent, alive.” An involuntary shudder coursed down his spine before he continued on. “I cannot say for certain that the men that had the holocron were Sith, though they were users of the Dark side of the Force, of that I am certain. And the one that chased us was powerful in its usage, and very well trained in the arts of combat. Only pure luck and circumstance allowed us to escape without much harm.”
It was an understatement if there ever was one. The Force must have been with him strong at that point in time to have allowed their escape.
“Can’t really say much to the account of An’ka. I was on a run to Tattoine to make a business deal. The men I was to meet ended up being these Dark Siders, and ended up getting forced to tag along while they ran some sort of operation. That is where I found An’ka, embroiled in the same operation with a different faction of the same men. To be honest, I cannot say that I trust her, but I made a promise to her in the heat of combat and I feel honor bound to see it through. But I agree, it does indeed seem odd that she has turned up so much…surely more then a coincidence I would think. I feel dark intentions from her, a dark aura of sorts.”
Dek gave a gentle shrug of his shoulders. It wasn’t like they couldn’t say the same of him.
“Well, if Tantra is our destination, I better get us going. That’s in the Outer Rim planets, somewhere on the Rimma Trade Route, if I’m not mistaken.” Dek took a moment to think, then nodded. He would have to check the charts, but Tantra was in the Tantra Sector, a little ways past Sluis Sector along the Rimma Trade Route. It would take weeks for them to reach it at top speed. “It will take weeks for us to reach our destination. Once I get our course set, we will have plenty of time to discuss my past…if you’re interested.”
Dek slowly changed his body posture, ready to head back to the ships bridge. He paused however, waiting for a response, from both, to come back to him before he excused himself. It wouldn’t really take him long to plot a course. All he had to do was Catch the Corellian Trade Spine, then shift over to the Rimma Trade route near the planet of Yag’Dhul. Of course, barring any side trips or problems, it would still take them anywhere from 3-5 weeks to arrive.

It would all come full circle, it was well on its way right now. The Jedi that had saved her from the prison where she had been “arrested" was here and they would be on their way to retrieve that which was not theirs to have. Pushing up to her feet from the chair, she was sitting in, she moved to the bed, sitting upon it and gathering up her bag. Reaching into the tiny pocket sewn into the very bottom, she pulled out the tiny earpiece, one that was small enough to fit in her ear. Flipping the tiny switch, she placed it in her ear, hearing only fuzz at first from the short range transmitter she had implanted while she had been watching Dek. “The ice planet Tantra is where we should be headed...” Cursing as she only heard static again, she tapped the ear piece again. “Which makes me curious as to how, and why... Anka keeps showing up at each. Talasea, Tatooine and now Coruscant with you.” That was the Jedi Ryl, she could tell from the voice. He was becoming suspicious or so it seemed, but she had heard all that she needed to hear.
Pulling the earpiece from her ear, she placed it back in the small pocket at the bottom. It was all very simple really, and as she thought back upon it, it would become even more simple as time went on. Dek was a ticking time bomb, she knew it, the Jedi knew it, and the Lady that she served knew it. She was very powerful this much An’ka did know, and that was all, she had never seen her, never spoken to her, only knowing that she was completely loyal to her cause. Smiling she replaced her bag as she crossed her legs at the knee, remembering how it had all come to pass.
Master Dawmi had taken her from her father when his business deal had gone bad, An’ka had hated the man at first, but as her hatred grew, she had focused it more upon her father. More and more she began to think about revenge, and hate. Master Dawmi sensed this in her and as time went on, her hatred for him lessened, the hate for her father growing stronger everyday. After the first two years with him, she began to trust him more, and he had began to teach her little things that would help her should she ever become separated from him for any reason. Her first lessons were simple, hand to hand combat, to which he gifted her with a vibro-glove. He seemed to thrive on her hatred, allowing her to embrace it more and more everyday, the angrier she would get in training, the more he seemed to praise her.
Within the next year, he began to teach her about different poisons, telling her how each of them worked as he continued to train her in martial arts. Master Dawmi would regale her with tales of beings so powerful and so Dark that whatever they touched would become evil and corrupted. An’ka would listen in fascination as he told her the stories of the Dark Side, the evil ones that were determined to rid the worlds of the Jedi. Each time he would speak of the Jedi he would spit, her lessons becoming harder each day, the training that he was giving to her, that of a Dark Master, which she learned all too well.
Master Dawmi was of the human species and had brought An’ka to Tattooine after he gathered her from her father. He was a slaver like the one she ended up with named Bassl, but had only her, all others he sold. He told her from the time that he had acquired her that she was special and on the day that he gifted her with her force-pike and told her that it was time for her to learn her true purpose.
“Ani’ Shakka, it is time for you to show your loyalty not only to me, but to the one that I serve. All of your training, your knowledge, your weapons will all come to great use to you. You see the stories that I tell you, they are true, the tales of the ones so evil and corrupted, that they taint everything they touch, it is all true. Now I know that is hard to believe and I am going to show you something that I will be placing upon you as well. For the shining light that you once were has now turned dark, you know it as well as I do, your hatred grows, and it is strong and this will be what will protect you.”
An’ka watched as Master Dawmi lifted his shirt, it was nothing unusual to her but as he turned his back, she saw the trident upon his shoulder, dark and black, a symbol of the Sith. Replacing his shirt, he looked to her, motioning her to her feet and pointing to a table laid out with bindings and a small laser she had never before seen. She of course would not argue with him, crawling upon the table, her eyes blinking as he fastened the binds, before kissing her forehead. “It is only so you do not move, because this will hurt. But it is the only way that they will know that you are loyal, those that know what it means, they will not harm you, and you will serve them as you have served me, with complete devotion. Will you not?”
An’ka nodded as he lowered the side of the material that covered her hips, he knew that no matter what, she would never be fully exposed for anyone again, and even so, none without complete knowledge of the Sith would know what the symbol was, or what it could do. It was something that would protect her from any that tried to read her thoughts, or sense exactly what she was. It would project thoughts other than what she was actually thinking, clouding any Jedi that tried to use the force on her. She was an emotional mess sometimes and that in itself would give her away, along with the thoughts that she often had. Reading her mind would not be an easy task, a dark aura would always surround her, showing she was tainted somehow but not to the exact extent.
As his hands ran over her smooth violet flesh, she closed her eyes as she saw him picking up the laser, seeing it grow heated, the symbol upon it becoming a fiery red before he placed it to her skin, a scream forming and escaping her lips as she screamed long and hard, the smell of burning flesh reaching her nostrils. He tried to soothe her as best that he could, pulling the laser type brand off, seeing the work and nodding in satisfaction.
“You did well Ani’ and now it is time to tell you the rest.” As he undid her bindings, she slipped from the table , not pulling up the material yet as he explained to her how the symbol would protect her. Taking everything in, she listened to what he said, waiting until he was done before she spoke. He of course told her that he did not know exactly who it was that he served, only that it was a woman of great power, who’s face he had never seen and neither would she. He believed all that he was told, and that one day these Dark Masters and Mistresses would rule over the Jedi. She smiled up to him, her emotions full of hatred and anger, her rage always teetering on the edge. “I will serve her as I have you Master, with nothing less.”
For the next two years, An’ka continued her training, becoming adept at her martial arts, her hand to hand combat, and in using her force pike. Master Dawmi continued to teach her of poisons and how to use them, manipulating her force pike on the end of the handle, with a long range transmitter one that could be used with any electrical force. Along with a short range transmitter and an ear piece she could use if needed. For the next two years, she trained harder everyday, becoming what it was he molded her to be. She was beautiful and still very slave like in most of her mannerisms, until she was pushed, and when she was pushed, everything that she learned would come to the surface.
And then the day came, when Master Dawmi took her to Bassl, the slave trader, he had an extended business trip to go on, though he would not tell her where and Bassl was to look after her until his return. Days turned to weeks, weeks into months, and months into two long years, her Master never returned. While with Master Bassl, she had made good friends with another slave, and it was on a fateful day when she was killed right in front of An’ka’s eyes. It was apparently what “they” had been waiting for, another minion had been implanted within the confine of the slave holding, sensing the anger, the rage, the hatred from An’ka and pulling her to the side before she could do anything stupid, telling her of her Master’s death at the hands of the Jedi, her anger being fueled as she finally stopped and listened.
A deep scratchy voice was all she knew from within the hooded cloak, telling her she was to be arrested and sent to Talasea, implanted to work from the inside, her training coming to an end and a new beginning.
Moving to the corner, she picked up her pike, holding it on the end and pushing the tiny almost invisible button. Reaching in, she flicked out the small transmitter, moving to the electrical panel that controlled the door, popping off the panel she looked at the small wires, pulling one out slowly, she plugged it into the end of the transmitter, it was no bigger than half of her thumb, but it worked very well. As it lit up, she leaned down and whispered quietly. “Du Coruscant, koona, ta Tantra. Jedai wata.” Unplugging the wire, she replaced it, moving to her pike and sliding the transmitter back in place.
An’ka still wondered why Dek wanted to speak to her. Laying her pike back in the corner, she sat back down in the chair, replacing her headpiece and straightening her skirted material, a finger brushing over the tattoo. Clasping her hands around her knees, she smiled, she was dangerous indeed. What a wonderful surprise it would be.

The Kiffar nodded to the other man. " Of course. Plenty of time to get to know one another. Also maybe see what talent you have acquired with your lightsaber. "
" Ossus... explains the mask. I've heard tales of the Jedi that have been there to the library. Interesting. "
" I'll be full of more questions throughout our travel I'm sure. Be good to all get to know one another. I think it will be necessary anyways. "
" Anka... plenty of questions for her as well. If you don't mind me harassing your passengers. "
Hearing Juna speak he managed another smile at her innocence, finding himself growing fond of the new padawan's charm rather quickly. " We have our own food to last us a while JunaBug. " He said, offering her a wink.
" I'm sure though if Captain Tara'dek has anything on board you like he wouldn't mind allowing us to buy some of it. " More a question than a statement he glanced briefly at the other man before looking off towards the hull then back. " Speaking of food that is what you and I should be doing right now. We have time for talk later. "
He bowed towards Taddio, his head in a tip motioning Juna towards the compartments on the TIkiar. " Grab just one container appiece. We'll eat then begin training. "

Dek merely nods and smiles at the responses that finally come from the man. He had seen the excitement in Juna’s eyes when he had mentioned piloting ‘Serenity’, though he suspected that Mevek had a hand in quelling that excitement. Oh well, there was plenty of time for that sort of thing later anyways.
“We have plenty of food. It’s fairly good quality, depending on what you pull out. Obviously the emergency rations are not as delicious.” He responded to the girls youthful enthusiasm. Smiling to himself, thankful for her presence, knowing that in the near future, her ability to laugh and smile would be a The Makersend. “You’re both more then welcome to help yourselves, I stocked up while on Coruscant, there is more then enough for all of us for quite awhile.”
With that, he excused himself. He had a lot to do to get them under way, or at least the Navcom did. It would be a long, arduous trip to be sure with a ship full of virtual strangers. Oddly, it wasn’t the Jedi, or Ceeta, that he was worried about. No, it was An’ka that seemed to be the one out of place. Not for the first time he wondered about the wisdom of saving her from Tattooine.
Within moments, he was back on the bridge of his ship. R2 was quick to beep and whir at him, relaying what was going on. Situating himself in the Pilots seat once more, his fingers find familiar controls and brings up the Navcom, plugging in Tantra as their destination, and the trade routes that he wanted to take to get there. The Navcom would do all of the calculations. In the meantime, he secured the door to the bridge and locked it tight before bringing up the camera’s to the interior of the ship. He ignored them all except for An’ka’s.
“So you say she was up to something fishy R2? Well, she seems to be acting normally enough now. Good catch though. I will have to keep my eyes open where that one is concerned.” Although, he wasn’t really sure what he could do, other then spy on her. He needed concrete proof of anything sinister, and yet he doubted he would be likely to get it.
Putting the Twi’lek out of his thoughts for the moment, he concentrated on getting them headed for Tantra. With a few adjustments, and a piloting them into the popular Corellian Trade Spine, Dek pushes the actuator and rockets them into hyperspace. They wouldn’t be stopping again, barring any technical problems, until the reached the planet of Yag’Dhul, where they would be picking up the Rimma Trade route. The Ion drives hummed away, almost happily, and Dek smiled. They were sounding good, far better then they had before he had made the trip to Tattooine.
Pulling a small comlink from its cradle, he tucks it behind his ear.
“Keep me informed of what’s going on R2, I think its time that I sit down and have a talk with our purple skinned friend.”
R2 responded with a low whir and a few clicks, showing its lack of enthusiasm for Dek doing just that, but also its accepting the tasks given to it. Shutting off the moniter that held the images of the interior of ‘Serenity’, Dek leaves the bridge and resecures the door so that only he and R2 could have free access. He wasn’t normally a paranoid man, but Dek fully intended not to let his guard down until all of this was over. None of it was normal. With boots clanking off of the metallic steps, Dek climbs up to the private quarters of his guests, and stops before the door of An’ka, pushing a button on the panel beside it. A sound would toll inside of the room, letting the Twi’lek know that someone was there, and wanted inside.

An'ka had lost herself in her thoughts for the moment, thinking about their destination as she sat in the corner chair. She didn't particulary care for the cold, but if the ice planet was their destination then she supposed that would be where she would get further instructions. She thought that at some point or another, the Jedi that was now on board would want to speak to her, she hadn't seen him since he had helped her and she was quite sure that he knew that she had stolen the others ship.
No doubt would there be many questions and she would have to have answers, answers that seemed at least modestly plausible.
It wasn't easy for her to be here, and she had slipped a bit, she would definately have to redeem herself of her attitude lately and try and make things seem as if they were still normal.
Hearing the door, as it chimed, she stopped herself from rolling her eyes, having a pretty good idea at who was at the door. Stepping to her feet, she first moved over to the bed, picking up her bag and setting it inside of the closet, looking around and making sure everything was as it should be before, moving to the door.
Touching the button, she heard the door open with a swish, her eyes looking up, seeing Dek standing before her. Smiling, she felt each of her lekku twitch back and forth slowly, making subtle movements, her own form of communication, secret for the most part, unless one was taught the meaning of each. "So to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?"
Stepping back to the side, she moved her hand, her fingers flowing inward inviting him in, waiting for him to step through the door so she could close it behind him.

He honestly had no idea what he was going to say, or ask. But that didn’t really bother him all that much. Dek was a man that lived on the edge of danger in most of his ‘business’ pursuits, and had a penchant for winging things, and coming up with ideas when the chips were down.
As the door to An’ka’s room ‘swished’ opened, he painted on a smile before moving inside. He suspected she would be more comfortable talking inside, where only he would hear her. Once inside, he walks in just a little ways before stopping to turn and face her, his smile dropping.
“Your demeanor and attitude changes as often as most people take a sonic shower. Would you mind explaining this to me?” Dek asked in all seriousness. She had been happy and semi-grateful when he had taken her off of that sandy planet, then she had turned the moment they were clear into a sharp tounged harpy. He could understand her being quiet and moody when they had been on Ossus. It was a place she was not used to, and with nothing to really do. But then she had gone right back to being beligerant when they had been on their way to Coruscant.
“I saw the look you had on your face when you saw that Jedi and his apprentice. It wasn’t fear, as I would have expected had it been only the theft of a ship. No, what I saw was disgust. To be blunt, I want some answers if you expect me to make good on my word. We’re going into a possibly dangerous situation, and I need to know that the people at my back can be trusted.”
He wouldn’t insult her intelligence by asking the obvious question that she had, no doubt, already assumed would be asked. She would answer them on her own. But then, he thought to himself, the question that he really wanted answered was, who was she? If she were anything other then what she appeared to be, she would already have a story concocted, and would merely lie. If she was what she claimed to be, then he would merely be giving her a reason to be even moodier.
After a moments pause, he continued by stating simply.
“If there is anything that I need to know, or that you haven’t been completely honest about. Now is the time to lay it out. We don’t need problems cropping up in the middle of a ‘mission’, or whatever this can be called that we are embarking on. I won’t insult you by asking the obvious, I trust you will answer those questions on your own.”
With that, Dek’s body posture loosens up as he waits for her give a response. Anyone that was combat savy, though, would recognize that he wasn’t merely taking a more comfortable position. No, it also put his hand near his blaster, and his other in an open position to use the Force and pull his saber to him, should he have need. It was a posture so familiar to him that he didn’t even think about it.

An’ka watched Dek as he moved into her quarters, the subtle motions that each of her twin head tails were making more out of annoyance than anything else. As the door closed behind him, she studied him for a moment, her thoughts clear of anything that may send negativity his way, though her tattoo helped with that as well. She watched him carefully, her head tipping as he spoke, the tale that she would weave, hopefully would answer all questions.
“My moodiness and my demeanor have a lot to do with being on a ship for so long, it reminds me of times past where I was confined and as you well know it is not a good feeling...it is...I do not know the word in basic, but it is not good. I get restless, and there is hardly anything to do sometimes.”
Turning, she moved to sit in the chair that she usually occupied, her long slit skirt flowing along her violet flesh, hugging her hips as she sat down and crossed her legs at the knee.
“You think that this is easy for me, to bounce from place to place, not having a home since, since I was taken by the only one that truly cared for me. I have not had an easy life. As far as the Jedi, I have nothing against them, the one named Ryl, he saved me from the prison that I was in, and as far as the other, I am just not used to children.”
It was all lies, of course, but there was no way for him to know that, and as she sat back in the chair, she continued to weave her tail.
“I stole the Jedi ship to go to Tattooine, I had intended to seek revenge against one that had wronged me, but in the end after killing one of his women, I was all but forced to go with the one that I thought to be a Jedi, the one that chased us....it was that or my life and I do value my life. And that is where I met you and the rest...well the rest is still in the process of being written is it not?”
An’ka saw his demeanor and his stance. She had been well trained and of course she knew that it was a stance of defense, as if she herself would be able to attack him with no weapons on her person, at least as far as he knew.
“You speak of wanting to know who has your back, but yet you are the one ready to defend yourself against an unarmed exslave, perhaps it is I who should be asking you, who I should trust.” An’ka didn’t move a muscle, sitting perfectly still, her eyes not leaving him. He underestimated her, that much was for certain, and it could quite possibly be, the worst mistake he would ever make.

As he stood there and listened, Dek couldn’t help but watch her every movement. He also couldn’t help but feel that a lot of her reasonings came a little too fast and easily, as if well practiced. But each one seemed plausible enough. He wasn’t well versed in the language of the Twi’lek, even less so in the movements of their Leeku. But he was aware enough to know that the way they were flicking around was not a pleasant motion, it was more a show of anger, or irritation perhaps.
“In my line of work, one always has to be ready to defend oneself. I’m sorry if you find this offensive or worrisome. Quite frankly, I do it now without ever thinking, and it is something that has kept me alive through many a journey.” He was blunt and to the point.
“Unarmed does not mean defenseless An’ka, a lesson that you might want to take to heart. But if you choose not to trust me, that’s up to you. I’ve only brought you along on trust alone, taking you out of a potentially deadly situation.” Dek shrugged as if it didn’t matter to him, even as one of his hands went to his hip and lightly cupped it as if it were causing him pain.
Oddly, the pain was generating from a place where his former Master had left a mark, a mark that be barely remembered, but had gone to great lengths to try and heal away. He had been mostly successful in that endeavor, although a light scarring remained, barely noticeable unless one was looking very closely at it. It was near to the kewafi flower brand. Shaking it off, as he had all the other times that the phantom pain had bothered him, Dek continues.
“But I think the question should be, why are you here if you do not trust me? Cause if you don’t, and you would prefer, I don’t think our new companions would mind a short side trip to drop you off.”
A smile formed on his lips, already know what her answer would be. She wanted to be here, needed to be here. It was stamped all over her face. Her motives were unknown to him, and perhaps would remain so, but he knew she would not allow herself to be kicked off. He still had a mind to ask her his original question, but now, more then before, he understood that asking would be a bad idea. It would only put her on guard.
“Oh well, that is all that I came to find out. I’ll let you get back to…whatever you were doing. If you need anything, you know where to find me.” He says, his posture changing once more, losing the defensive edge as he moves back towards the door. The visit was short, as it had been intended to be. In and out, asking a few questions that had to be asked, then going back to the business of piloting his ship.
Stopping at the door, he pauses long enough to look back at her. He still had to admit that she was good to look at. But the shine had been taken off by the way she had been acting. He supposed that he couldn’t really blame her, though. He had never gone to the extremes that she had, but he too had had problems with enclosed spaces after gaining his freedom.
“Is there anything else?” He asks, his hand hovering over the door panel.
