Tatooine
An awesome yellow planet with two moons, glowing in the darkness. This is what one sees entering Tatooine .Leaving or entering the desert world's atmosphere or lurking in it's orbit are dozens of patient pirate vessels making entry or exit dangerous to the unwary. One of the reasons traffic is thin, despite being a stopping place along a major hyperspace route.
Tatooine is a dry rock of a planet, drained of moisture and baked to dust by it's two suns. The daylight side scorches while the night side freezes. Life, however, does manage to thrive. Tatooine a known frontier world, here everything is available whether the Republic likes it or not. Despite being an inhospitable and uncomfortable place to live, people do choose to live here, some out of greed, others out of ambition, some desparation, fear and even hope.
With the very first hot, dry breath searing the air from your lungs, Tatooine promises only this; a life of questionable length.
Mos Espa
Tatooine's default capital. It is the planet's largest city. It's entertainment district offering a wide range of mundane and illicit pursuits. Merchant districts a never ending bazaar of goods, selling everything from chilled and cooled drinks, to top of the line stolen starship components straight from Corellia.
Farther back from the main street are thr residential areas and, on the very outskirts of the city, the Slave Quarter. All throughout Mos Espa are docking bays for visiting ships, always located close to cantina's and ship parts shops.
The power in Mos Espa seems to be connected to one word - Hutt. The Hutts rule over and control all of the city, five clans the strongest once the Besadii was recently within the last decade replaced by the Desilijic thanks to infamous and ever ambitious Jabba the Hutt. Each of the Hutts are trying to out one another clan wars are frequent and ever-constant within Mos Espa. In the end though Jabba Desilijic Tiure seems to be the one to have the most dominion and promise.
Laws of Mos Espa
Though it appears lawless it does have a fully employed staff of Law Enforcement, from Police Officers to Judges. These of course are all under the employ of the Hutt clans though.

Slaves
Slavery is completely acceptable and part of the economy of Tatooine, espcially Mos Espa. This is no different for the Choobie Pit.
Slaves are not free persons, and are afforded only a few basic necessities to survive - such as cooling units and a daily water ration. Nothing of any real remarkable quality. Collars are a personal preference of owners, usually the most common tradition, especially amongst the Hutts is a tracking device that is implanted into the slave in quetions body. If the slave travels too far beyond it's owners designated ranges the device can explode. A warning system exists in these devices that when triggered it heats rapidly, continuing to do so inflicting considerable damage to the slave. Until finally exploding. Usually full explosive times require 5 minutes, so the slave has about that long to get back in range or give in to their owner's whims properly, whatever makes restitution.
Currency
In order to make even more profit. the Hutts have imposed a currency system based off of their Hutt trugut, rather than adapting to Republic datary (or credit). The exchange rate is listed as follows.
1 Trugut equals 10 Dataries (credits) and vice versa. Most citizens of Tatooine will not even accept credits.
