Ian O'Shea
36 Years old
Alderaanian
Outlaw Tech
Can pilot ships, but it certainly isn't his strong point.
Quite handy with a blaster pistol
Ian comes from a family of very poor Nerf herders. From a very young age Ian displayed an interest for tinkering with the engines of land speeders and other vehicles. In a very memorable incident Ian terrorized the Nerf herd of another Nerf Herding family with a stripped down land speeder bearing an engine made from spare parts found in a junk yard in the Castle Lands of Alderaan. Ian's father, while mildly amused by the incident, realized he needed to provide his son with an opprotunity to educate himself formally. In other words Ian's father needed to get Ian out of sight before a rather irate group of Nerf herders caught up with him and delivered what no doubt would be a well deserved beating of epic proportions.
It just so happened that several years before Ian's father had stumbled upon a land speeder wreck. In the wreckage was trapped a young noble of some prestige. Ian's father aided the young noble and kept the young man alive until medical help arrived. In return for this aid the young nobleman had told Ian's father that he was in his debt. Given the customary distrust between Nerf herders and Alderaanians of noble birth Ian's father didn't take the offer to seriously at first. However, when the time came that he needed assistance with Ian he turned to the noblemen and asked for assistance.
Ian was then sent to the Alderaan Institute for Engine Technology with the help of the nobleman who was more than happy to aid young Ian in this manner. Ian spent four years studying engineering and other various subjects. Upon graduation the young Nobleman prodded his brother into hiring Ian into the government of the old Republic as a technician. Ian soon found himself far from Alderaan amongst strange races and entirely new technologies to tinker with. Indeed Ian found himself happier than he could ever imagine.
To date Ian has spent fourteen years in the employ of first the old Republic and then the Empire. Ian isn't the sort to give much thought to politics. He is a technician who loves to spend his off duty time studying tech manuals and modifying all manners of technologies. It is quite possible that Ian is one of the few people to own a droid that is completely assembled out of various discarded kitchen appliances. Another project has included the souping up of a Z-95 fighter that still holds several speed records in various local small craft races. Sadly the Z-95 fighter racing had come to a sad end when Ian crashed it attempting to manuveer it through an asteriod field. In the early years of Ian's employment with the government he found that his services to other groups could bring him great reward as well.
For over ten years Ian has quietly supplemented his income doing various engineering jobs for people of dubious moral fiber. These jobs have paid Ian quite well. Ian typically spent the funds in a rather careless manner on women and other pleasures of the flesh. Ian has been extremely lucky to date to have been able to avoid detection by the Imperial authorities. However, as we shall all soon see, his luck is about to run out in a rather unique manner.
